Statement

In my art I reflect on personal history, memory, emotions, change and temporality.  I explore these concepts through the medium of collage where the interplay of layers and forms flow into each other or create tension between each other. My work is about the way in which these processes connect with, repel or reformulate each other's identities and acquire new meaning.

In practical terms, the elements of my work are my own drawings and collages which I cut up and reassemble into new compositions in a constant process of creation and destruction aiming at creating order in chaos.  In simple terms this is like picking up the pieces.

I work mainly on paper, card, foam board and sometimes plaster as I am interested in the power of their fragility and temporality.  I like the strong impact of black over white in large areas or in fine lines and I also take into account the subtlety of the very edge of the pieces created by white over white.

My hope is to inspire those who look at my work to find connections and also find their own visual journeys losing themselves in the rhythm of the forms displayed.
